One of the benefits of living in Florida, aside from all that year-round sunshine, is the fact that residents in the sunshine state are closer than anyone else to the greatest selection of cruise options in the world.
If you are a resident of Florida or a nearby state, you can drive to your cruise ship, which likely makes the prospect of taking a cruise vacation cheaper and more convenient. Yeah, we’re all a little bit jealous.
When you drive, though, you’re going to need a place to park your vehicle. So, we’ve tracked down your parking options and the Florida cruise ports. Here is the Cruise Addicts guide to parking at Florida cruise ports.
Miami is the busiest cruise port in the world, with dozens of cruises departing and arriving each week. The port, accordingly, offers plenty of secure parking at its on-site garages and open lots. The parking facility also offers a complimentary shuttle service to your cruise terminal. But these spaces come at a hefty price: $22 a night as of 2019.
You can find better prices at the several parking lot facilities in proximity to the port.
Premier Cruise Parking is located about a 10-minute drive from Port of Miami and offers garage and rooftop parking and a free shuttle for up to four passengers per car. The cost is about $10 a day, and you can reserve a spot online with a deposit and pay the rest in cash when you park.
Best Cruise Parking also offers a free shuttle service for up to four people to the port and can be booked online for your cruise. You can self-park your vehicle at the lot, which is located less than two miles from the port. Prices are in the $9 per day range and fluctuate a bit based on the time of year when you are cruising.
Miami Parking Lots offers parking facilities at four gated and secure locations within a 12-minute drive to your cruise terminal. Prices start at $8 per day and include a shuttle ride for up to four people (extra riders $5 each).
This cruise port in Fort Lauderdale is almost as busy as the one in Miami, and it also has convenient and secure parking garage facilities right at the port. Passengers can use the Northport Parking Garage, Midport Parking Garage or Midport Surface lot. All three spots cost $15 a day and offer shuttle service for up to four people (additional riders pay $8 each).
Lower-cost options exist with parking companies fairly close to the port.
Gold Coast Cruise and Fly Parking features valet and shuttle service at its lot, which is located 10 minutes from Port Everglades. The cost is about $11 a day, and you can book online.
The Rodeway Inn and Suites hotel offers parking and shuttle service less than two miles from the port with no overnight stay required. Rates are about $10 a day depending on cruise season.
This cruise facility serves the Orlando and Cocoa Beach areas in Florida. And like the other ports in Florida, Port Canaveral ranks as one of the busiest in the world. Accordingly, parking at the designated areas at the port comes with higher prices. Port Canaveral parking costs $17 a day, and you walk a short distance to your ship.
Off-site parking companies offer lower prices and shuttle services. We’ve found a few good options to consider.
Go Port Canaveral offers a great deal, especially for longer sailings. The company charges $9.95 per person for its shuttle service, but the parking space is free. Reserve early as the 150-vehicle lot (6 miles from the port) sells out quickly.
Park Port Canaveral is $11 a day with a prepaid reservation. The fenced and secured facility is three miles from the port and features a free shuttle service.
Other nearby Port Canaveral cruise parking facilities with similar prices ($8 to $11 a day) and amenities: Canaveral Cruise Parking, 528 Port Parking, Park N Cruise, Cruise Time Parking and Shuttle, and Lots of Honor.
