Best Asian Restaurants on Cruise Ships

There is no doubt that a cruise is an efficient and cost-effective way to travel around the world to visit enchanting locations far from home. While sailing, you can also take your taste buds on an exciting and flavorful journey through the variety of dining options offered onboard the ships.

Asian cuisine ranks high among our favorite foods, and we’ve discovered a handful of ships that feature the best Asian restaurants on a cruise.

Red Ginger

Oceania Cruises’ Red Ginger

This restaurant is on Oceania’s Marina, Riviera and Sirena and offers a contemporary take on Asian classics. The striking and elegant design of the space is a highlight of the meal. Chairs are covered in red, and décor throughout includes ebony woods, a bubbling waterfall and traditional Asian art.

The menu features delectable items like spicy roast duck and watermelon salad, rock prawn and sushi skewers, Vietnamese summer rolls, chicken satay and lobster pad thai.

Lobster tacos at Umi Uma.

Crystal Cruises’ Umi Uma and Sushi Bar

This eatery has been rebranded from the former Silk Road. Umi Uma and Sushi Bar is available on Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony and was conceived in partnership with celebrity chef Nobu. The specialty restaurant serves creative Japanese-Peruvian fusion meals and is incredibly popular on this all-inclusive line. Passengers are known to reserve a spot in this food destination multiple times on their voyages.

Lotus-shaped windows provide ocean views, and you’ll be drawn to the intricately designed and architectural features highlighting Asian culture. A large Tibetan prayer wheel adorns the entrance and invites you to slip into a Zen-like state before your memorable meal that might include beef tataki, duck spring roll, pork and shrimp shui mai, gigantic pink tiger prawns and grilled Korean barbecue lamb chops.

JiJi Asian Kitchen

Carnival Cruises Line’s JiJi Asian Kitchen

The specialty restaurant features traditional Asian dishes in an elegant venue. The menu has dishes from across all of Asia, with nine regions on display, including Singapore, Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

This is a fun family-style restaurant that serves up dishes that can really dial up the spice.
